We ended up opting not to do the trek because of weather conditions but Huw and his wife were very informative and let us make the final decision. Huw gave some amazing, detailed recommendations for things to do and see in the surrounding area which were very helpful! Even offered extra help. They seem like lovely, genuine people. I couldn’t praise them enough & so whether we did the trek or not, they improved our stay 🙂

Huw and Emma were fab hosts and the walk was really unique. We felt safe in their hands at night and even made some delicious hot chocolate for when we made it to the top! We have a lovely experience and it was nice to meet some locals to the area also. Thanks again Huw!

It’s quite possible to travel to the Brecon Beacons and explore the area on your own; there are many many gorgeous trails. But doing a night walk to the top of a peak on a night when you see the sky thick with stars one minute, and are blanketed by mist the next – you wouldn’t be able to create that experience without Huw and Emma! They were extremely thoughtful hosts and guides. We stopped often, we chatted, they were aware of all of our levels and experience and made the fact of being out on a cold, windy ridge, with stars before us, so relaxing and quite magical. We really appreciated their help before and after the experience, with tips about the area and check-ins about our stay. Would definitely go back to Huw every time we return, and we know now, from him and Emma, that there is reason to go back again and again! The only thing I would liked more of would have been more astronomical chat, about the stars/constellations we saw, but we didn’t miss it much because of all the other storytelling about the region. Thank you Huw and Emma!
