The Brecon Beacons’ Waterfalls and the Fairy Glen

This is a lovely, gentle family friendly bimble that, as long as the conditions are good, will give us the chance to go for a refreshing paddle in one of the more historic areas of the Welsh Valleys!

As all our events do, we’ll begin with a talk about Health and Safety, then we’ll set off! We will follow one of the four rivers in the Beautiful Waterfalls area of the Brecon Beacons, through the shaded valley that encompasses the Elidir Trail – the Fairly Glen – visiting some of the most dramatic waterfalls in the National Park. We’ll tell you all about the legends of the Princess and the Blacksmith (and the Princess’s nasty father!), and we’ll look for the pixies and elves that inhabit this part of our world. We’ll also tell you about Elidir himself. Then we will make our way to ‘the Bridge by the Little Mill’ where we’ll stop for a lunch that we’ll provide.

After our break we will return to Pontneddfechan – downhill all the way – for an experience that should last around four hours in total.
